Fostering family connections and strengthening community: ECSE hosts second Home 2 School Connection event

Willow Lane Early Childhood Center and Arbor View Early Childhood Center's Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) staff recently organized a second Home 2 School Connection event bringing together families and staff in a warm, welcoming and inclusive school environment.

On Dec. 14, families were invited to Willow Lane Early Childhood Center to engage in a variety of early learning activities with ECSE staff in classrooms and the gym. Activities included art, sensory, math, building, storytelling, gym and snack time and provided both parents and students with opportunities to play and learn together. During the activities, ECSE staff shared valuable strategies with families to support children's development and learning. Families had a chance to connect with one another and build meaningful relationships with the dedicated ECSE staff. Willow, the ECSE program's mascot also made an appearance greeting students and families.

Parents in attendance expressed their appreciation for the event, highlighting the valuable resources, ideas and fellowship it fostered.

The Home to School Connection events strengthen the sense of community within the ECSE program and emphasizes the collaborative efforts between families and educators in nurturing the growth and well-being of young learners.
