What curriculum do you use?
Our curriculum is based on The Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress. We also collaborate with Osseo Area Schools kindergarten teachers and leaders to ensure our programs align.
 

Our curriculum supports children in all areas of development:
● Social-emotional development
● Language and Literacy development
● Mathematical & scientific thinking
● Physical development
● Art & Creativity

The Preschool for 3s & 4s program has a focus on social-emotional development.
The PreK for 4s and 5s program has a focus on preparing children for kindergarten.

What is a typical daily schedule?
Each class day will include playtime, a large motor time (in their classroom, gym or outside), snack and large group time. The schedule for each class will differ, but all of these activities will occur at some point throughout the day.

What is the difference between the 2, 3, 4, and 5 day a week classes?         

All classes use the same curriculum. Classes that meet more days a week go deeper into the content and allows children additional time to strengthen skills. Usually families choose the option that best fits their family’s preference and schedule.         

What are your class sizes?
Preschool classes may have up to 17 children and PreK classes may have up to 18 children with a teacher and an educational support professional.

Is transportation available?
Limited transportation is available for eligible students attending a PreK class at one of the elementary schools. For morning classes, transportation is available to school and for afternoon classes, transportation is available from school to home. No mid-day transportation is available. Students will be picked up and dropped off at a designated bus stop, not at the student’s home.

Does my child need to be toilet trained?
Children enrolled in a preschool class should be mostly self-sufficient in the bathroom, know when they need to use the bathroom and have few accidents. Children enrolled in a PreK class need to be completely toilet trained.

Are there field trips?
In a typical school year, all classes participate in at least one field trip experience during the year. This could be a parent and child field trip into the community or a community visitor that comes into the classroom.

How much is a class?
Tuition is based on several factors: the number of days a week the class meets, the length of the class, your family size and adjusted gross family income. For specific information, please refer to the sliding fee tuition scale in our brochure or in Eleyo. If the income guidelines would prevent you from registering for a class, call 763-391-8777 to discuss financial assistance.

When will I find out if my child got into a class?
An email confirmation will be sent five to seven days after the registration lottery is held on February 24, 2023. If all your class choices have filled, you will be contacted by phone.

What is early childhood screening?
Screening is a free service for all students. Screening a simple check of your child’s development, hearing, vision, height and weight. It is available for children between the ages of 3-5 years old; ideal time for screening is between ages 3 and 4.
