Osseo Area Schools prides it self on providing summer opportunities to support students in their academic, social-emotional, and enrichment learning.
Please use this resource to learn more about all the different summer opportunities we provide scholars. Programs are subject to adjustments and cancellations, so please stay in touch with the program your student is enrolled in. Global Summer Institute

Serving current students in grades K through 5. The program is focused on engaging each scholar through reading, art, and drumming. This year’s exploration is West African cultural arts and West African Dance and Drumming.
Registration: Information will be coming out via Peach Jar flyers and is now open through June 1, 2022. This program is open to all students currently enrolled in ISD 279. Paper applications are available at schools and can be dropped off at any school front office.

Serving PreK (ages 3-6)-8th grade. Weekly fee-based enrichment camps for PreK-8th grade students who are interested in music, woodworking, art, science, robotics, coding, babysitting skills, sports, STEM-based activities, Camp Invention and much more! Located at our central camp location and select Kidstop School Age Care sites throughout the summer. The all-inclusive camp catalog will be mailed to homes by mid-March. Serving students who most recently have completed K-4th grade. The purpose of this program is to give additional support to our students at EB who partially meet or do not meet the standard in the areas of both Math and Reading according to MCA’s and to their Winter Fastbridge score for Grades 3-4 and using only or Fast Bridge data to identify our “At Risk” students in grade K-2.

Camp Rocks Plus
Because of construction at Palmer Lake Elementary this summer, students will attend Camp Rocks at Garden City Elementary. They will engage in hands-on learning experiences that develop their artistic, scientific, and social/emotional skills. Students may also participate in a reading or math intervention designed to accelerate their learning in that subject area. Serving current K-4th grade students. Flyers were sent home Feb. 1.

WD Summer Program- School in the Parks

Serving current K-5th grade students at Woodland during the 21-22 School Year. The purpose of the program is to bring positive and cooperative opportunities to our students throughout the summer at convenient and easy-to-access local parks. Academic experiences will be multi-disciplinary. Social / emotional experiences will focus on the foundations of social and emotional regulation and mindfulness techniques.

Welcome to Kindergarten at Woodland

Must be an incoming Woodland Kindergarten student for the 2022-2023 school year. The purpose of the program is to provide a positive, introductory kindergarten experience where students get to know our kindergarten staff, engage in structured play activities, and learn cooperative and self-regulation strategies. This experience also allows our kindergarten staff the time to establish trust and assess our incoming kindergarteners.

Breakfast and lunch provided. Intended for grades K-2 from Zanewood. This is a partnership with ZW Recreation Center, so the program can be from 9:00-4:00 if families want both components. There will be five weeks of STEAM programming with an emphasis on literacy and math. Each week will focus on one STEAM theme.

Indigenous Language Summer Institute

Serving grades 6-12. ILSI will have two tracks which focus on creating basic and intermediate language proficiency in Dakota or Ojibwe languages by means of culturally rooted experiential learning environments (traditional games, sports, foods). Participants will engage in learning about Indigenous history, cultures and connections to the Mnisóta(Minnesota) landbase.

FACE Summer Wellness Activities
Ages range based on activity. FACE Summer Wellness activities include a series of engagement experiences to support the overall wellness of scholars and their families. Activities will be tailored to strengthen the physical and mental wellbeing of participants. There will be activities available for the entire family.

Serving grades 9-12. The OALC Summer Credit Recovery program is intended for students who have not taken, failed, or are at risk of failing one or more classes required for graduation.

The Early Childhood Family Education Summer Superstars program provides learning opportunities for parents and children birth to age five. Classes and play time opportunities for families will be offered in the outdoor Nature Play Area at Arbor View Early Childhood Center and include parent and child interaction time, guided play for children and parent discussion time. A Preschool for Three to Fives class will be offered. Children will learn through exploring the natural world in the mud kitchen, sand and water play area, giant birds nest, building and climbing area and more! Early Childhood Screening appointments will be offered. Fees for classes will be on a sliding fee scale. All families are welcome. No one will be denied participation due to inability to pay

Teachers will develop weekly themes that work on literacy, mathematics, and social-emotional learning through play. Children will explore, ask questions, discover new things and work on problem solving through hands-on child-led experiences
